Ans. Your local optician is obliged under law to give you a clear, legible copy of your prescription following your eye test. However, if the prescription is not clear then you should get it verified with your optician. However, it is likely that we will ask you to clarify the details on it, with your optician if we cannot read it ourselves.

Ans. This may be the case if you have no 'cyl' values on your prescription. However, if you have a 'cyl value on either eye, you will always have an axis value. If you do not have an axis in spite of having a 'cyl' value then please call your optician to verify your prescription or mail it to us on ask@spec2vision.co.uk .

Ans. If you don’t have a PD value in your prescription then you have a number of options: Either, Go to your optician and ask him / her to measure your PD value for your prescription. Or, you can use the standard average measurement for males and females that is 63 and 60 respectively.

Ans. The average PD value works very well for most customers, but certain customers who have strong prescriptions and whose “PD” diverges significantly from the average, may experience problems with spectacles made using an average PD measurement, as the centre of the lenses will not sit over the centre of each pupil. The spectacles will not damage or harm the eyes but they can cause discomfort or eye strain.

Ans. If your prescription is of the detailed type i.e., it has different values for near, distance or intermediate categories, please follow the following instructions: If you are ordering Bifocal lenses, you should enter all three measurements. If ordering Single vision lenses then enter the values in the: "Near" line if your glasses are needed for reading or close up work. "Distance" line if your glasses are required for seeing objects far away. "Intermediate" line if your glasses are required for music or VDU (Visual Display Unit). If you provide us these measurements (an approximate value) then we can search for the best glasses for you, which will fit you the best.

The easiest way is to get the dimensions from a comfortable pair of glasses you already have. On one of the legs you will usually find (with the aid of a magnifying glass) three measurements, the first two separated by a rectangle. (Here, you have to change this pic as well)

The Lens Diameter is a matter of choice, but the other two determine the fit. All measurements are in millimetres. If you do not have a pair of glasses to go by, then you can easily take your own rough measurements. Remember, your local optician, for a small fee, can easily adjust frames.

Ans. You don’t have to worry under such circumstances. All you have to do is to take a measuring scale and measure an approximate value for the Bridge Width by keeping the scale near the bridge of your existing frame and similarly for the Lens Diameter and Arm Length. The Length Conversions are as follows: 1cm (one centimetre) = 10mm (ten millimetre) 1m (one meter) = 100cm (one hundred centimetre) = 1000mm (one thousand millimetre). You always have to give the above values in millimetres.
